We hold our children, Jesus holds us

Today's the day!  For the next year, I am flashing back to 2009 and posting my favorite moments, along with a short devotional or anecdote for that particular memory.  This has been an ongoing project and I still have devotionals to write for several of the moments (okay, a lot more than several).  But this is my inspiration and motivation to keep going and finish this project so that I can publish it and make it into a book.  I hope you enjoy the posts and maybe find a little inspiration yourself.

December 5, 2009
Favorite moment of the day:  Jessalyn falling asleep in my arms just a few minutes ago and gently moving her hair off her beautiful, soft face.  I am so blessed.
Jessalyn was 5 years old at the time of this post.  I can’t remember this exact day but there were so many like this with each of my children.  Now they are getting so big and I realize that times like these are precious and cherished.  Jesus holds each of us in his arms like this every day.  What a feeling he must get when we fall asleep in his embrace.  The parenting moments we have of wiping away tears, kissing the bumps and bruises, and hugging our children are the same things He does for us every day.  I thank the Lord every day for my children.
