Favorite moment of the day:
watching “The Blindside” – wow, what an awesome movie.
This
movie is such a good example of taking care of the “least of these”. Based on the true story of a Memphis,
TN, family who took in a homeless boy, this story is an inspiration to me. We are told to take care of those who
have little. In Matthew 25:35-40
the Bible says, “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you
gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed
Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me…And the King
will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it
to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
I
want my children to understand that we should help our neighbors and give to
others in need. We donate items to
thrift stores, we give things to people who have hard times, we participate in
food drives, but is that enough? I
want to be a servant for the Lord and I want my children to serve as well. We look for opportunities to help
others, just like the Bible tells us to do. After all, if we do these things for others, we are doing
these things for Christ.
