Funny that today I am taking my youngest child to children's choir practice for the Christmas program. I remember when I directed the children's choir. It was a stressful but rewarding time of my life. I hope you enjoy today's post and start thinking about the true meaning of the holiday season.
December 6
Favorite moment of the day: at children’s choir practice, Archer was just really singing
his little heart out on the last song “Hosanna”. And all the kids singing “Christmas is a time to love” with
their arms around each other and swaying to the music!
“Is
anyone among you suffering? Let
him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.” James 5:13
I
don’t direct children’s choir anymore but I love to hear children sing. And when they sing praise songs or
program specials, it is even better.
They don’t care that they aren’t on pitch or in the right key. They sing from the heart because they
like the song and they are happy and cheerful. We should do that too.
God doesn’t care because, to him, it is a beautiful sound. We should be like children and let go
of the inhibitions and self-consciousness and just sing to Him.
